M Cyber Academy: From Startup to Cybersecurity Powerhouse

When Vikash Kumar founded M Cyber Academy, it wasn’t just another training institute. It was a mission — to prepare India for the digital threats of tomorrow. Today, that mission is paying off in ways few imagined.
The Journey of a Digital Detective
Vikash’s journey into the world of cyber investigations began long before M Cyber Academy existed.
As a child in the early 2000s, he was fascinated by computers. Around 2004–2005, while most kids were busy gaming, Vikash was exploring the digital world with a restless curiosity. Inspired by Sherlock Holmes, he once dreamt of becoming a field detective. Life, however, had other plans. “I couldn’t become a traditional detective,” he says, “so I chose to become a digital detective.”
This passion took a sharper focus during India’s first lockdown. By then, the nation had become Digital India, but not yet a Secure India. Cyberattacks on India were rising, and Vikash realized one clear truth: Cyber education had to become a weapon. That thought became the foundation of M Cyber Academy.
A Growing Force in Cybersecurity Education
What began with just one student in the very first batch quickly grew into a movement.
Vikash still remembers proudly: “My first student was selected in Telangana Cyber Cell. That gave me the conviction that we were on the right path.”
From that single learner, M Cyber Academy has now trained over 5,000 students across India and beyond. Its teaching style is unique — combining hands-on simulations, live cases, and government-style training. Students don’t just learn theory; they practice ethical hacking, digital forensics, and cybercrime investigation the way professionals do.
The result? Learners who graduate not merely as students, but as cyber defenders.
Bridging the Industry Gap
India faces a severe cybersecurity talent shortage. Global studies warn of millions of cyber jobs remaining unfilled every year. M Cyber Academy is actively bridging this gap by:
Preparing students for roles in top MNCs and cybersecurity firms.
Supporting law enforcement agencies with specialized training in cybercrime investigation.
Running digital safety awareness programs for the masses.
Rooted in Social Impact
But for Vikash, it’s not just about business or placements. Through the non-profit ROOTxCON Foundation, the academy has trained countless underprivileged students for free. “Cybersecurity should not be a privilege,” he emphasizes. “Every youth deserves the knowledge to protect themselves and their families online.”
This blend of commercial success + social impact makes M Cyber Academy unique in the edtech landscape.
Recognition & Momentum
The academy’s success is now being recognized by academia, industry, and government circles. Alumni are contributing to critical police investigations, defense projects, and corporate cyber teams.
But ask Vikash about his proudest achievement, and he doesn’t talk about numbers.
“Every student we train is a multiplier,” he says. “They don’t just secure themselves — they spread awareness to families, communities, workplaces. That’s how you build a secure nation.”
The Road Ahead
M Cyber Academy is already looking at the future. With plans to evolve into a world-class Cybersecurity & IT Institute, complete with advanced labs and research centers, Vikash Kumar’s vision is clear: India should not only adopt cyber technology but also lead the world in cyber defense innovation.
