3rd June 2023,Mumbai: With just a Grade 10 diploma in hand, Mr. Narsi Kularia embarked on a remarkable journey from a small village near Bikaner, Rajasthan to the bustling city of Mumbai. Through perseverance and a methodical approach, he single-handedly built an empire worth 700 Crores that he now commands. The Narsi Group, comprising a team of over 4000 professionals including architects, interior designers, engineers, administrators, and skilled craftsmen, stands as India’s premier provider of complete interior fit-out services.
Back in 1981, when Mr. Kularia commenced his professional career, the interior industry in India was in its nascent stages, with only major oil corporations being able to afford extensive interior designing. Recognizing the opportunity, Mr. Kularia honed his skills in this domain, delivering exceptional results that few others could match. In 1983, he seized the chance to venture into the West Asian market, leveraging his reputation for integrity, reliability, and timely project completion. By 1985, armed with new ideas and a solid foundation, he returned to Mumbai.
His first project in India, following the establishment of his company, Narsi & Associates, in 1986, was the prestigious Lubrizol facility in Navi Mumbai. This project paved the way for many more, but it was the liberalization of the Indian economy and the rapid growth of the IT and corporate sectors in the early 1990s that propelled numerous domestic contractors into the promising realm of real estate development. Mr. Narsi embraced this wave of opportunity and never looked back.
In his pursuit of excellence, Mr. Narsi places immense value on delivering quality work and products, ensuring timely project completion and delivery, and maintaining a strong focus on exceptional service. Starting with small-scale projects, he now constructs independent office spaces and undertakes ambitious endeavors such as the ITPO Complex in Delhi, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Reliance Industries, Google, and many others. However, above all else, he prioritizes honesty within himself, his team, clients, suppliers, architects, and associates.
Deeply committed to philanthropy, Mr. Narsi made a donation of Rs. 21 lac to Bharat Ke Veer in honor of the soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.
Recognizing the need to address the issue of unskilled labor in our country, the Narsi Group has taken the initiative to organize a skill training program in collaboration with the Furniture and Fitting Skill Council on a nationwide scale. By educating and empowering unskilled laborers to establish their own businesses, we aim to provide employment opportunities and contribute to solving this problem. With our focus on the government’s Skill India initiative, we are prepared to scale up our efforts and remotely reach these workers. Our dedicated 2,000 square foot space for skill development at the Turbhe manufacturing facility has already successfully trained and certified 300-400 workers each quarter, with a total of over 4,000 prospective laborers trained so far.
As a chairman, Mr. Narsi embodies the principles of prioritizing results, self-drive, resourcefulness, and a track record of building and strengthening management teams to enhance productivity and profitability. To foster a diverse and forward-thinking furniture industry, experienced leadership and growth across all sectors are essential. With outstanding organizational abilities and the ability to forge enduring and fruitful relationships with customers and suppliers across PAN India, Mr. Narsi strives to realize this vision.
