Paschim Bengal Rashtriya Yuva Hindu Vahini Demands Strict Action for RG Kar Medical College Rape

Kolkata, August 22, 2024 – The Paschim Bengal Rashtriya Yuva Hindu Vahini has strongly condemned the brutal rape of Dr. Moumita Debnath at RG Kar Medical College. The organization’s leaders, including Working President Rajesh Kumar Singh, National President Mahant Anurag Bhriguvanshi, and Vice President Smita Grandhi, have called for immediate and severe action against the offenders.

Rajesh Kumar Singh expressed deep anger over the crime, calling it a serious violation of law and human dignity. “This terrible crime is a disgrace to our society,” Singh said. “The rapists must face the strictest punishment, including public hanging, to restore faith in our justice system.” Singh also criticized the slow pace of legal proceedings and stated that the organization is ready to take action if necessary. “We will not sit idle while justice is delayed. We are prepared to take to the streets to ensure these criminals are held accountable,” he added.

National President Mahant Anurag Bhriguvanshi supported Singh’s stance, condemning the attack as a serious blow to legal and moral values. “The attack on Dr. Moumita Debnath is shocking and undermines our legal system,” Bhriguvanshi said. “We demand the harshest penalties for the offenders, including public hanging, to ensure justice and restore faith in the legal system.”

Vice President Smita Grandhi called for additional safety measures. “We strongly condemn the heinous act against Dr. Moumita Debnath and urge the authorities to act swiftly and justly,” Grandhi said. “The government must invest in better street lighting, security cameras, and emergency response systems to improve public safety.” She also recommended public awareness campaigns to educate communities about respect and consent and suggested using technology such as personal safety apps that alert authorities with a single click. “By creating a culture of vigilance and respect, both the public and government can work together to prevent such crimes,” Grandhi concluded. “We stand united with Dr. Debnath and all survivors, committed to ensuring justice and safety for everyone.”

The statements from the organization’s leaders reflect a strong demand for justice and a commitment to improving safety measures to prevent future crimes.
