Saptrishi Ghosh:  I love travelling a lot and that’s one of the reasons why I enjoy riding bikes too

2nd March, Mumbai: Travelling lightens us up, helps us rejuvenate and feel better. There is a wanderlust in most of us. But given the nature of our metro life and tough professions, we hardly get time to take long holidays. Actor and voiceover artist Saptrishi Ghosh, who was last seen in Victor Mukherjee’s Lakadbaggha, is a travel enthusiast and talks about why he enjoys discovering something new.

“I love travelling a lot and that’s one of the reasons why I also enjoy riding bikes. Instead of taking one long break, I have started going out sporadically. I take two days off in a week and in the following week again, I take 3 days off and the week after the next I take 3 days off and that’s how I have been doing it off late. This way I can travel and relax. Instead of taking a long time away from work this is how I balance work and leisure,” says the Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho actor.

Apart from taking long leaves for his father’s illness and that too about a decade back, Saptrishi has never taken leaves from work for more than five days.

“Given our profession you cannot ask for long leaves, if you are not shooting you don’t feel like going on long leaves because any time an offer might come and it can be an episodic or a shoot for 2-3 days or it can be a quick 3-4 days shoot for a web series or some audition. At least for someone like me I can’t think of going on holidays for more than five days,” he shares.

Few days back Saptrishi took his family to Mahabaleshwar for 3 days. “My daughter is around 5 years old and she has never been to a hill station. The weather was very good in Mahabaleshwar. We went horse riding and boating and it was fun,” he adds.

The actor has travelled solo and it has mostly been to Dubai. “It is one of my favourite holiday destinations. I have a lot of friends there and Dubai feels like home. Someday I might settle down there. Travelling solo is a lot of fun and it gives me a different high, a different set of freedom. When I come back after these kinds of trips I am fully charged and look forward to work again,” he says.

About his dream holiday destinations, Saptrishi adds, “It is Dubai and it’s a much better version of Mumbai. It feels like home and they are called expats there whether they are Pakistanis, Asians, Bangladeshis, Indians, all of them celebrate life together out there. Others can be Kashmir and Switzerland as I haven’t been to any of these places. This year, I am planning to go for a trip to the mountains with my daughter and mom, so let’s see if that happens.”
