23rd February, Mumbai: Sneha Namanandi will be hosting a forthcoming sports bases show. The actor and entrepreneur sounds excited about the venture and shares about it. She also talks about why she took it up and what makes this show special.
“It’s called WWE Super Dhamaal. WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) has been very popular all over the world. My brother and cousins watch it very often and my brother has tried a bunch of WWE stunts himself on me as a kid. The show has segments which are bifurcated into WWE information, WWE matches updates, humour, drama, games and so on,” says the actor, who auditioned for it and bagged the show.
She has watched quite a few matches as her brother is a huge fan of WWE. “I have accompanied him. I must say it’s so much fun watching a combination of wrestling and drama,” she says.
Sneha co-emcee is Three Idiots actor Sharman Joshi. “Sharman Joshi is a very fine and talented actor. It’s a great honour to share screen space with such an experienced and incredible artist. He is a fun personality and it completely reflects in his performance and on the sets too,” she adds.
Sports anchoring is very different. And, the actor was nervous initially thinking if she would be able to do justice to it.
“As an actor and a person, I have always been nervous every time I start any new project. I enter every new set as a newborn. I also believe every character is different and you need to keep reconditioning yourself. So yes, I am always nervous when I take up a new opportunity and I guess it’s cool because it saves me from being over confident,” she adds.
Sneha’s favourite sports are hockey and throwball. “I have been a state level hockey and throwball player. I started playing hockey and throwball during my childhood. These two sports hold a special place in my heart. The discipline, passion, grace, ambition and the art of handling failures has come to me through sports,” she shares.
So does she miss shooting for Bade Acche Lagte Hai 2 and Sneha answers in affirmative. “Bade Achche Lagte Hai holds a special place in my heart. I loved Shivina Kapoor and appreciate the love I got for my character. I got the best co actors and the best team in the show,” she says.
Next, Sneha is looking forward to playing the main lead in a show where she gets to explore and showcase her acting skills and performance.
“Staying grounded and cultivating a positive environment are the two things I've learned from the entertainment industry. I feel this place makes you stronger,” she adds.
As far as her career goals are concerned, Sneha knows what she wants. “Right now I am focusing on main leads in tv shows, looking for substantial roles in web(ott)and developing my brand ‘The Pet station’,” she ends.
