NE INDIA’S POET SANKHA SUBHRA DEVBARMAN’S DAUGHTERS WEDDING DRAWS CELEBRITIES
Noted poet and novelist from North-East India and several award winner for literature, Sankha Subhra Devbarman's daughter Shinjini, news editor of a prestigious English news channel in India, recently (9 December, 2024) tied the knot in a grand ceremony.
The wedding was a lavish and decorative affair. Several distinguished guests from across the country and abroad attended the function. The groom, Diptanshu Chakravarty, is a commercial film director based in Mumbai. The highly publicized wedding took place in Agartala, the capital of Tripura. Friends from Paris, Brussels, Kabul, Jakarta, and Sumatra joined the function for the wedding ceremony at the royal Manikya Enclave in Agartala.
Muska, daughter of the late President Mohammad Najibullah Ahmadzai of Afghanistan, was also present at the function. The grandiose event was attended by several internationally renowned celebrities. Notable attendees included famous European poet Maya Panajotova from Belgium, Indonesia's former parliamentarian and influential figure Shastri Bekri, and poet Mira Gusvina from Indonesia.
Internationally acclaimed Bollywood actress Seema Biswas, Dr. Pabita Sarkar, former Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University and recipient of Japan's Order of the Rising Sun, were also present. Assam's renowned singer Manisha Hazarika, Assam Got Talent show official Sonu, Dr. Saumen Bharatia, President of Byatkram Mass Awareness and Social Development Organization and many others attended the ceremony. Shinjini's wedding ceremony was a majestic affair, filled with warmth and pomp, thanks to the presence of so many distinguished guests.
